Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by KNOMI GROUP PTY LTD (ABN 28 699 108 953) ("Knomi", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using Knomi, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Who can use Knomi
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Australia to hold a Knomi account. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate.
2. What Knomi is — and isn't
Knomi is a digital safety and incident-response membership. We monitor for exposure, help you respond to online incidents, secure accounts, preserve evidence to the standard authorities need, and guide you to the right people — such as eSafety, police, or schools.
Importantly:
- We are not an insurer. Knomi does not provide insurance. Where it helps, we can introduce you to trusted insurance partners.
- We are not investigators. We do not identify, pursue, or take action against offenders. That is the role of law enforcement, and doing otherwise can put you at risk.
- We are not a legal or financial advisor. Our guidance is practical incident support, not legal or financial advice.
- We are not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call 000.
3. Your membership
We offer Free, Solo Protect, Family Plus, and Family Premium plans. The features, member limits, and Rescue Hours allowances for each plan are described on our Pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
Family plans allow you to add family members up to the limit of your plan. You are responsible for ensuring you have the authority to add each member, and for any member who is a child in your care.
4. Billing and renewal
- Paid plans are billed annually in advance, in Australian dollars (AUD).
- Your plan automatically renews at the end of each membership year at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will give you reasonable notice before each renewal.
- You authorise us to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel.
- Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider.
5. Cooling-off, cancellation, and refunds
- Cooling-off period: You may cancel within 14 days of first joining for a full refund, provided you have not used paid incident-response services.
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime. Your plan continues until the end of your current membership year, and you will not be charged again after cancellation.
- Except for the cooling-off period above, and any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
6. Incident support activation (14-day waiting period)
Knomi is protection you set up before trouble. Incident-response support activates 14 days after you join. If you are already in the middle of an incident when you join, our pay-as-you-go response is available to you immediately.
7. Rescue Hours
- Each paid plan includes an allowance of Rescue Hours per membership year — hours of real human help such as triage, evidence preparation, and recovery coordination.
- Rescue Hours are provided on a fair-use basis. We may apply reasonable per-incident limits and may decline or pause support where usage is excessive, abusive, or outside the intended purpose of the service.
- Unused Rescue Hours do not roll over to the next year.
- Additional Rescue Hours beyond your allowance, and pay-as-you-go incident response, are charged at $250 per hour (AUD).
8. Partner referrals
Where it helps, we may introduce you to trusted partners — such as cyber-insurance, legal, identity-recovery, and forensics specialists. These introductions are made only with your agreement. We may receive a referral fee, and we will tell you when this is the case. Any services those partners provide are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Your responsibilities
When using Knomi, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep your account secure.
- Use the service only for lawful purposes and your own family's protection.
- Not misuse the service, submit content you have no right to share, or attempt to use Knomi to harm, surveil, or pursue another person.
- Follow our guidance and engage with authorities where appropriate.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that put others at risk.
10. Intellectual property
All content, software, and materials provided through Knomi are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You may use them only as part of using the service. You retain ownership of the information and evidence you provide; you grant us permission to use it solely to deliver the service to you.
11. Your privacy
Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Knomi, you also agree to that policy.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes those rights. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, we do so as set out below.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We work hard to help, but we cannot guarantee any particular outcome — including that an incident will be prevented, resolved, or that evidence will be accepted by any authority. The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to Section 12:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.
- Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the relevant claim.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date and, where changes are material, notify you. Continuing to use Knomi after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
